Breathing for Optimal Health

There is more to breathing than you may think. To live, everything must breathe. The Earth breathes, rocks breathe, plants breathe, and all the birds, insects, animals, and other forms of life on Earth and in the seas breathe. If they did not, life could not go on. Life would die.

Contained in the air is a great power, a power that gives life to all things. The power in the air is something that cannot really be defined but we would conclude that it must be all truth, intelligence, wisdom, and understanding. It is the source of all life.

A baby takes its first breath of life and from that moment on, the child is independent of the mother as a living, independent being. The breath brought life and the cessation of breath will bring the end of life. The first breath brings the life force into the body and instils purpose within all living things. The breath links the invisible positive, intelligent power to the visible physical body and thus starts the living process.

Our bodies are small universes within themselves, the centre of which is called the solar plexus. It is what we call the Sun centre because all the organs and other parts of the body depend upon the Sun centre for the strength and power it gives out. In the same way all the planets of the universe could not exist without the life power of the solar Sun. Proper breathing develops the Sun centre or solar plexus to build a strong physical body and because it is such a strong energy, it can generate great strength for the brain cells and the mind.

In developing breathing it is necessary to be aware of the power of thought and to know the difference between positive and negative thoughts. For example, if you are in a mood and you begin to practise deep, rhythmic breathing, you will add power to the moody thoughts and thus make it difficult to overcome the moody thoughts. This is why it is important to balance your name to one that is in harmony with your purpose so that difficult emotional feelings can be controlled easily and you are able to maintain a happy perspective of life despite life’s challenges.

In practising the deeper breathing exercises, it is important to think of something beautiful and mentally elevating such as a picturesque scene of nature but not to think of things that stimulate the emotions because it is important to be relaxed and peaceful. As one draws in a deep breath through the nose focusing on the back of the throat, filling the lower, mid, and upper part of the lungs, one could think about the strength and power of the intelligence of the universe and try to be aware of the love and joy of life, the beauty of life, and the harmony that we want to create in our lives. As we expel the breath through the nose slowly with great relaxation, we strive to lift our minds up to the bigness of the Reason for being and how we can apply greater universal thinking in our lives to create the happiness in home life and the success we are seeking. Uniting the breath with happy thoughts helps to develop calmness and peace.

PRACTISE THESE SIMPLE EXERCISES:

1. Sit on a chair with both feet flat on the floor, hands on the knees, with head, neck, and spine straight. The fingers should be well apart. In this position, let yourself go; i.e., relax completely all over, without a single muscle in tension in the entire body. Keep the thought of peace in your mind; push away any other thoughts that will tend to disrupt your relaxation time. Five to fifteen minutes of this relaxation will bring unexpected results in the process of recharging a devitalized body. Do not fall asleep. If you can, practise relaxation two or three times a day. It will keep you from being irritable or angry.

2. Spend some time each day practising deep rhythmic breathing. Sit upright in a comfortable chair and will your body to relax. Put aside the day’s activities and focus on a nature scene, for example, or anything that does not disturb the emotions. Inhale the breath gently through the nose focusing on the breath going to the back of the throat and feel it filling the lower part of the lungs as it pushes the diaphragm outward and downward. Then fill the middle part of the lungs pushing out the lower ribs, breastbone, and chest. Then fill the upper portion of the lungs forcing the upper chest outward and lifting the whole chest while completely expanding the ribs. While you retain the breath, make sure the muscles at the base of the neck and shoulders are relaxed. Make your shoulders droop so that you do not create tension. Then gently exhale the breath. As a suggestion, inhale the breath to the count of six, hold for the count of three or six, and exhale to the count of six. Start with five minutes a day and increase the time as you are able to keep your mind and body relaxed.

You may find yourself feeling a little dizzy as your body adjusts to the greater oxygenation of the blood. If you put forth effort to practise breathing, you will experience greater energy and vitality.

The third study program, Healthy Living, introduces various breathing exercises that are beneficial for daily living to strengthen the body and mind.

What a Wonderful World

The following is an excerpt from the keynote article from one our bi-annual conventions.

What a Wonderful World

A wonderful world is the result of balance between Reason and reality (as we perceive it). The intelligence of Reason becomes involved in the pattern of finite form creating natural beauty, harmony, and balance, which is reflected on this wondrous earth and called Mother Nature.

Although the involutionary process is impossible to see, we can trace backwards the evolutionary stages of life and thereby gain a concept of how and why Reason does become involved and thus better understand our part or role in the finite pattern of life.

Why Reason exists in the first place is at this time unanswerable but we know it does exist because we experience it. We can understand that this intelligent power of Reason incorporates within itself the principle of creativity causing reality to define itself through finite or dimensional form as demonstrated by the pattern of the universe and the life forms on our earth.

Scientific evidence points to a fiery beginning of our earth but through time and change, the earth has become hospitable to the creativity of life and formed the Garden of Eden of Reason within reality, hosting the life forms of intelligent expression, the most developed of which is humanity.

From seed to flower, young to old, child to sage, the involution of the life force causes the unfoldment of a myriad of potentials to fill the physical plane with an array of life forms to dazzle the senses with riotous colours, cacophonies of sound, scents, and tastes to make the senses reel, complexities of shapes and sizes to defy rhyme and reason. Life can and should be balanced and beautiful.

Languages have been the medium through which Reason has culminated its intelligent expression, developing the mind of humanity as the highest conscious expression of Reason.

People have, it seems, always sought for a clearer understanding of their relationship to this creative source. From building idols of worship to religious edifices of grandeur, the populace has attempted to reunite their lives with the highest essence of Being, that of Universal Consciousness.

It would appear that the creative power of life must struggle always to overcome the resistance to change and growth. Newton’s laws of motion tell us that objects remain static unless acted upon by another motivating force. Whether it is the formation of a new island, the sprouting of a seed, or the travail of child bearing and birth, it requires a motivating cause to bring it about. Humanity remains static in its mental development because of its long term acceptance of custom and habit. It remains locked in existence based on feelings allowing emotions to direct its growth towards more desirable and less constructive objectives. Thus humanity grows in numbers, increases in discordance, and exponentially races towards self-destruction.

But invariably some people sense the inner voice of conscious, potential creativity and out of the masses arise those eager minds seeking change, growth, improvement, and greater closeness to that elusive understanding of Reason. The greater the motivation, the greater the change. Increased awareness of the universal scope of life awakens the creative power of Reason locked within the spark of potential within every human being.

How Important is Your name?

<pHow Important is Your Name? by Lorenda Bardell

Why? Because you are your name–your personality, your family traits, and your destiny can be accurately measured from an analysis of your name.

The Kabalarian Philosophy’s basic premise is that all life is energy in motion and thus is subject to measurement. All scientific discoveries come through this basic principle of measurement. Everything is measured: time, space, density, speed, length, breadth, circumference, vibration, chemical elements, colour, sound, light, odours, explosive power, compression, electricity; liquids are metered; blood is measured and counted; all fluids of the body are tested mathematically. Atmosphere, humidity, heat, mechanics, construction, all chemical formulae are mathematical. Emotion and brain waves are mathematical; the heart beats rhythmically or mathematically; blood flows through the body at a certain speed, (mathematics). Our feet move one step at a time, and it takes so many steps to cover distance; all distance is measurable, or it would not be distance. The letters of any alphabet all have their specific numerical positions from one to nine; all words are numbered through their letters. The inflection of the voice is measurable. Everything you build or buy is measured not only by its length, bulk, weight, quality, and capacity; you can buy milk raw, and then it can be pasteurized or homogenized: these are added which means included (mathematically).

There is not a thing you can speak of that is not basically mathematical, including the monetary values, interest, loans, payments, etc. Our whole body is mathematical dimension because it could not exist outside of dimension; even a ghost can be seen, thus showing mathematical dimension. No matter how you figure, mathematics is included–even the quantity and density of the air you breathe, your degree of sight, and the amount of your appetite, or capacity for liquids, the extent of or degree of your smell and taste. Try to separate anything from mathematics and there will not be anything left, not even a degree of your intelligence or sense of humour!

A name is not only a group of letters, but each letter is numerical in the alphabet, and the name designates not only the person, but the quality of his mind, his personality, or nature. Even breeding creates mathematical quality and quantity denoting all degrees of racial stock; even the hormones can be counted and compounded. A woman has so many children. It is often said that one and one make two; but this is only so in the case of twins. Read the preceding statements over carefully and try to dispute them; there is no greater way to prove the theory to yourself. And do not forget that if you prove it you have qualified it–also a mathematical state of quality and intelligence. You may ask yourself the question, “What does this data establish in one’s mind?” The answer is that everything that exists is mathematical; there is nothing outside of it.

Your name is composed of letters of the alphabet. Each letter is in a mathematical position in sequence (like the elements in the periodic table) and each letter is a symbol for the intelligence and energy that flows through the letter (like the keys on a piano, each key being a means by which intelligence in sound energy is expressed in sequence through the keys). Various letters when combined in a name create a chord of intelligence that has a powerful influence and impact in your life.

We in the Kabalarian Philosophy have a great respect for the Power of the Word because it is through our thoughts and actions that our lives develop and we become what we think and how we act.

When you took your first breath of life on a particular day, month, and year, a quality of universal energy became a part of you, and again, when measured mathematically denotes your core purpose. When the name is harmonized to that purpose, it brings such happiness and freedom, and a chance to live your purpose and be a success in all ways.

We encourage you to consider trying a balanced name. It is a name that is harmonized to your birth date. When the two are in harmony, there is such potential for greatness in whatever it is your dream to accomplish. You will find yourself losing those not-so-nice traits and gaining confidence and assurance that you truly can create your future the way you wish it to be.

We look forward to sharing this knowledge with you.

The following is one sample article that you can read:

Abstract Power not Knowable until Expressed

Excerpt from Thoughts are Things, Alfred J. Parker

We often hear the remark that thoughts are things, but many people cannot relate thoughts with things; they feel that thought is an abstract power not knowable until expressed.

Everything upon this earth is a living symbol of an abstract power. No one could define God in tangible terms; yet, we see this divine power of Consciousness manifest in works such as creation, natural laws, and all living phenomena. The reason of being, which is abstract and beyond and above form or the finite plane, must take upon itself form; thus all form is an earthly symbol of an abstract power.

It is only through human mind that the impulses of Universal Consciousness become a mental reality through the human brain cells. Everything, even the most divine wisdom, must use the mechanics of this finite plane in the form of the solar mind, mortal mind, and the human brain cells, to become an actual reality, a symbol, or a thing. Thus thoughts are things, reason brought into reality through the mechanics of our finite plane called life.

If one thinks a thought, an impression, picture, or image is created in one’s brain cells and thus an impulse has become a reality—or a tangible thought created in the realm of mind. This picture can be transcribed through speech, and even though not transcribed into actual reality, it may be sensed or felt by another mind who also has its being in the plane called mind. Thus does mind affect mind, sometimes without the use of language. This product of the mind is a living thing having the expressed power of its origin, good or bad. The most vital part of any thought is its intent. The intent represents the plane or quality upon which the thought was created. The intent is the true meaning of.

Do not think thoughts that are not good, for they do not have to be verbally expressed to become a menace to other minds. Thoughts can be felt and translated through affinity and the law of attraction. One wrong thought can attract many other thoughts that can overwhelm and destroy you. Guard your origin of thought that it might not attract disaster.

Mind is the most powerful vibration known; it can permeate anything. How many children suffer through continuous colds, through fevers and strange nervous maladies the origin of which is unknown to doctors? Little do their parents realize that it is their thinking that is affecting the child. When those parents are asked, “Do you quarrel and lose your temper?” and they will reply, “Not in the present of the children. We wait until the child is in bed to air our difference of opinion.” How foolish to assume that they can unleash the most powerful force in the universe—mind—in confusion, and not realize that it permeates the whole house and can be felt by the child’s mind unconsciously! Positive thinking is mind’s protection against negative thoughts and influences.
